Faucet Installation

Faucet Installation

Faucet Installation is a simple process that can be completed in a short amount of time. The most important part of the process is to ensure the faucet is correctly installed so that it functions correctly and does not leak.

Gather the supplies necessary to install the faucet. This may include the faucet, a basin wrench, plumber’s putty, caulk, and other tools depending on the type of faucet being installed.

Turn off the water supply to the sinks. This can be done at the main shut off valve or at the individual shut off valves near the sink.

Remove the old faucet and disconnect the water supply lines. Be sure to take note of how the lines were connected and the size of the nuts and washers used for the connections. This will help when it comes to connecting the new faucet

Clean the sink to prepare for the new faucet installation. Make sure to clean the area where the faucet will be installed as well as the holes for the supply lines.

Apply the plumber’s putty to the faucet base before installing it in the sink. This will help to ensure a waterproof seal once the faucet is installed

Place the faucet into the sink and secure it with the basin wrench. Tighten the nuts until they are securely snug against the sink

Connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Be sure to use the same nuts and washers that were used to remove the old faucet. Tighten the nuts until they are securely snug against the faucet

Turn the water supply to the sink back on and check for any leaks. Apply caulk if necessary to help make the connection more secure

Test the faucet to make sure it is functioning correctly and check for any leaks. Make sure to check for water pressure and temperature as well. If all is functioning correctly, then you have completed the installation of the faucet.

Attach the faucet to the sink by putting the nuts and washers on the supply lines and tightening them with the basin wrench

Connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Make sure to use the same size nuts and washers that were used on the old faucet

Turn on the water supply and let the faucet run for a few minutes to make sure there are no leaks.

Clean up any mess and make sure the area around the faucet is dry.

With these simple steps, you can successfully install your new faucet.
